Research activities on Laser cooling and matter waves
Present efforts:
- Subrecoil cooling of alkali atoms
- Creation and transfer of cold dense atomic clouds
Future effort:
- Guiding of atoms through laser fields
This research work is undertaken in close collaboration with the other
research teams of the European Community TMR Network on Coherent Matter Waves
Interactions.
TMR
Network
Fellowship
The present research plans within the TMR-network offers various post-doc
and Ph.d.-positions on different time scale. The positions will be funded by the
European Community. Due to the rules of the EU-Commision positions are only
open for 'young researchers' (age under 35; except possible years for child
care) who are citizens of one of the member states or associate states of the
EU. Candidats should send their application by regular mail. Successfull
applicants are supposed to start their work in Pisa on October the 1st,
1998. Applications are welcomed.
