TMR Network NanoSNOM

Open positions

The present research plan within the NanoSNOM TMR-Network offers 36 month post-doc.(and/or Ph.D.) positions . The positions will be funded by the European Community through the INFM. Due to the rules of EU-Commission, positions are only open for young researchers (age under 35, except possible years for child care) who are citizens of one of the member States or Associate States of the EU. Succesfully applicants are supposed to start their work as soon as possible in 1998. Applications are welcomed:

We invite applications for one/two Postdoctoral Resercher position (36 month total,
beginning in 1998) within the NanoSNOM Network of the European Community.
We offer training and expect partecipation in our effort to use scanning near field
optical microscopy (SNOM) for nanotechnology, in particular for data storage applications.
A home made aperture SNOM will be used and a new apertureless SNOM will be constructed.
The candidate must hold a doctorate degree or equivalent, and he or she must be less than 35 year old. Evaluation will be based on scientific and professional achievements with
preference for experimental expertise in scanning probe microscopy and applied optics.
The candidate must be a citizen of European Commuity Country member or of an Associated Country.
A gross salary in the range 37000-43000 ECU per year will be provided through a contract by INFM.
