Welcome to the NANO-LAB homepage. The group is part of the Physics Department at the University of Pisa. Affiliations are with Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Scienze Fisiche della Materia - CNISM , polyLab CNR-INFM , INFN - Sezione PISA.
The research of the group is at the intersection of optics with scanning probe microscopy. Basically, we use atomic force (AFM) and near-field optical (SNOM) microscopy and spectroscopy techniques for the characterization and manipulation of advanced materials at the nanometer scale.
