Esami: Lo studente presenta alla fine del corso una relazione finale sulle esperienze fatte durante l'anno. L'esame di circa 30 minuti consiste nella discussione sui lavori presentati.

Il corso e' una introduzione teorica e pratica alla fisica sperimentale per gli studenti del quarto anno. Si discutono le metodologie di rivelazione delle particelle elementari e delle onde gravitazionali e le tecniche di analisi sperimentali.

* Requisiti: Si assume che lo studente abbia completato i corsi in elettromagnetismo, meccanica quantistica e fisica atomica. Una buona esperienza in calcolo numerico puo' essere utile per quelli interessati nelle tecniche di analisi.

45 lectures of one hour, 25 labs of about 5 ours each.

The course is a theoretical and practical introduction to the experimental physics for students in the last year of their studies. Attention is devoted to the methods for particle and gravitational waves detection and to the computer analysis techniques.

* Prerequisites: It is assumed that the students will have completed courses in electromagnetism, quantum mechanics and atomic physics. A good acquaintance with the calculus is certainly useful for those who are interested in the analysis experiences.

Assessment: The students present at the end of the course a final relation of the

experiences done during the year. The examination consists in the oral discussion, of about 30 minutes, on the work done in the labs.
