- The main field of interest is now related to the

Production and characterization of nanoparticles.

 

-      We focus the attention on Au nanoparticles

-       

-      Au nanoparticles  can be produced in the form of colloidal suspensions in solution by pulsed laser ablation of a metallic target. They are of great interest for the rapidly developing fields of human biology and medicine, either for drug delivery systems and for fundamental studies, such as in vivo Raman spectroscopy. This fabrication procedure is advantageous with respect to its chemical counterpart in terms of purity of the final products.

 

A colloid of Au nanoparticles looks like RED WINE

 

 

 

-      The absorption spectrum is modified by the

Plasmon band around 520 nm

 

 

-      The curve is fitted well by the Mie’s theory of scattering.
